About Langa

NPO no:

Langa Cheshire Home is a well designed, bright family home.  Our vision is to ensure that persons with disabilities have equal opportunities without discrimination in the community and within Cheshire Homes.  We value dignity, human rights and encourage residents to take part in decision making and hereby ensure that services are appropriate to their needs.

Langa Cheshire Home was established in 1990.  It is the third Cheshire Home in the Western Cape. On its inception there were only three residents and today the Home is houses 26 residents, all of whom are profoundly disabled.  Nevertheless we are planning to build independent living cottages that will facilitate self reliance.

The home has a well sustained garden project which is used for fundraising and cutting costs on catering.
Through the assistance of the Western Cape Branch we are in the process of building a centre for an Early Childhood Development for the children with disabilities.

We encourage services with other organizations and promote residents interaction within the community and in the local neighbourhood.

Langa Cheshire Home relies on volunteer’s expertise and contribution on many levels.  They form a Management Board and a service support group.  Every day we are proud of the relationship we have with local schools, universities and churches.  They play a big role in our Home by providing friendship, recreation and service standard upliftment.
